Today is #GivingTuesday, the world’s largest generosity movement.
The generosity of our community has been instrumental in bringing hope and healing to countless individuals who are on their journey to recovery. Reflecting on 2023, we cannot help but feel immensely proud of the impact we have made together. Here are just a few of the incredible milestones we have achieved this past year:
– Trained and engaged 90 new compassionate volunteers
– Supported an increasingly diverse participant base including 31% self-identifying as part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community
– Provided 2717 affordable counselling hours through Looking Glass Counselling | Bridge the Gap™
While these figures are impressive, we know that numbers can only tell a portion of the story. True inspiration is found through the unique and personal journeys of the individuals who access our programs and services.
We are honoured to share the story of one of those individuals, giving you a glimpse behind your gift. Alexis is a past participant in our Personal Recovery Space and Online Peer Support Chat programs, as well as a 2023 Reflections Scholarship recipient. By supporting our work, you are directly supporting people like Alexis.
“Knowing that Looking Glass sees me, hears me, and has my back – there is no monetary value that can be placed on that feeling.” – Alexis M
